Cynthia Aguilar
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
My name is Cynthia (she/her/ella). I enjoy cafecito, practicing yoga, dancing, and reading.
I have a cat who may occasionally make an appearance in our telehealth sessions. I was born and raised in Santa Ana and studied counseling in Los Angeles, where I lived for many years before recently returning to my hometown.
I’m here to remind you that you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. Life can feel especially heavy during a breakup, a loss, or an unexpected transition. Maybe you’ve learned to carry it all on your own. My role is to walk beside you as you rediscover who you are and what you need.
As a first-generation queer Latina, I understand what it’s like to navigate life without a roadmap. Pausing, breathing, and finding meaning in the simple moments has taught me that healing is possible even during uncertain times.
I offer a warm, grounded, and affirming space where you can explore your emotions, make sense of your experiences, and reconnect with what matters most.
I work with teens, young adults, and neurodivergent adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, identity exploration, relationship patterns, and intergenerational wounds. I show up with compassion, cultural humility, and a calm presence as we process what you’ve been carrying.
My therapeutic approach is relational and mindfulness-based, rooted in helping you reconnect with your inner wisdom so you can create meaningful, empowered change.
As a bilingual therapist, I offer sessions in English and Spanish and strive to create inclusive, affirming spaces where you feel deeply seen, understood, and supported in your growth.
Education:
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Urban Learning with a Minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from California State University, Los Angeles. I later returned to CSULA to complete my Master’s in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.
